Understanding Defect Categories

WrenchML organizes defects into three main categories based on how they affect the geometry of a part:

1. Additive Defects

Additive defects add material or create protrusions on the surface of your part.

Examples include:

• Bumps
• Roughness
• Burrs
• Excess material

Real-world causes:

• Material buildup
• Poor finishing
• Weld spatter
• Improper molding/casting
