Quick Start Guide
This guide will walk you through the essential steps to create your first defect detection dataset using WrenchML. By following these steps, you'll quickly understand how to upload a CAD model, generate synthetic defects, and export a dataset for training your computer vision model.
Prerequisites
Before starting, ensure you have:
- An active WrenchML account Account Setup
- A CAD file in STEP format (.step or .stp)
- A basic understanding of the part geometry and potential defect areas
Step 1: Upload Your CAD Model
- Log in to your WrenchML account
- Click on "Parts" in the main navigation
- Click the "Upload New Part" button in the top right corner
- Select your STEP file from your computer or drag and drop it into the upload area
- Enter a name for your part (ideally something descriptive that identifies the component)
- Click "Upload" to start the conversion process
- The system will convert your STEP file to a GLB format (this may take a few minutes depending on the complexity of your part)
- Once complete, your part will appear in the Parts list with a "Completed" status
Step 2: Create a Dataset and Configure Parameters
- From the Parts list, locate your uploaded part
